This project focuses on upgrading the Altum II encoders to support advanced broadcasting features. Key enhancements include enabling the output of multi-Program Map Table (PMT) Transport Streams (TS), which allows for more efficient and flexible content delivery. Additionally, the project involves implementing support for Dolby AC-4 passthrough, providing advanced audio encoding capabilities that cater to modern broadcasting needs. Another significant aspect of the upgrade is the implementation of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) 2022 Forward Error Correction (FEC) standard for video over IP, ensuring high-quality and reliable video transmission over internet protocols. These upgrades aim to significantly improve the functionality and performance of the Altum II encoders in the evolving digital broadcasting landscape.
