For these handheld devices, power consumption is a primary consideration, as it directly impacts mission duration, weight, and size. The project's objective is to create a comprehensive family of multisensor target acquisition devices, integrating thermal imaging, visible light imaging, Laser Range Finder (LRF), Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), and 9-Degree of Freedom (9DOF) sensors. Low-power design must be combined with the strengths of each sensing technology to ensure autonomy without compromising reliability. The project also includes designing robust and user-friendly interfaces, ensuring sensor interoperability, and optimizing performance, efficiency, and durability for use in critical applications.
